At Jervis Bay Kayaks we have a huge range of demo kayaks and ocean skis that are available for demos all year round. We reckon it’s one of the largest and most diverse demo fleets around with over 25 different sea kayaks, ocean skis and selected pedal powered fishing kayaks available for a test paddle. How it Works
JBKs kayak instructors run each session and provide some expert coaching tips on the water as well as taking care of all the safety aspects of the session. We will give you a thorough run down of the kayaks, show you how to adjust, fit and launch and provide paddling tuition as we go. We can also provide a lot of first hand knowledge of paddling in the unique Jervis Bay region, so it’s a great opportunity to learn about the local paddling environment.
Before booking in a session, have a chat with our staff and we can generally narrow down the kayaks for you to try and the instructor will have these for you on the day. We will also provide all the safety gear, paddles life jackets, paddling wind jacket (if required). There is a huge variety of local paddling areas that offer loads of calm, protected sites – or for more experienced paddlers looking for dynamic water to test themselves and their kayaks, there is plenty of scope for this as well.
How Long Are the Sessions / How Much do they Cost
Our sessions last for an hour and cost $100 per person. Please note that all our sessions are private 1 on 1 paddles, although we are happy to take small private group bookings. Generally we have a couple of different kayaks for you to try during each session and the $100 cost can be full rebated against a kayak purchased from our store (within 2 weeks of the session).
If you are interested in doing a longer private lesson as part of the demo test paddle, we offer a 2 hour private lesson for $180 (all equipment provided) – with a $100 refundable against the purchase of a kayak.
